Disc Golf Season (#1)

Disc Golf is here again

The weather is starting to get nice and I hear the discs through the air. Its Disc Golf season again. I’m starting to get fit again so I can start competing at tournaments again. I took a couple years off for family reasons and now I found myself able to compete again. I’ll keep everybody up to date with my training and any tournaments that I played in. My home courses are Rand Park in Keokuk, Iowa or Wildwood Park in Ottumwa, Iowa. Maybe I’ll see some of you out on the courses.

Basketball Season coming to an End 2006 (#1)

The first weekend of the NCAA tournament is now over with 65 teams decreasing to 16 teams. There was a hand full of upsets and overtimes games in the tournament. The sweet 16 teams are made up of power conferences and some unknown conferences. One of the power conferences that doesn’t have a team in the sweet 16 is the Big Ten. This is the first time in several years that the Big Ten Conference was not present in the Sweet 16.

THe conference that is leading the way is the Big East Conference with has 6 of the 16 teams. Following the Big East is the SEC and ACC conference that was 2 teams each. THe suprise conference in the tournament is the Missouri Valley Conference that also has 2 teams in the sweet 16 (Bradley and Wichita State). There are four conferences that have four different teams that make up the rest of the field.

All four number 1 seeds are still in the tournament at this stage. There are only 2 number two seeds left following the exit of Tennessee and Ohio State in the second round. This weekend will be a fun weekend to watch basketball when 16 teams battle to try to be one of the 4 places in the Final Four.

How about those Hawkeyes

Iowa won the Big Ten championship in Men’s basketball and took a 25-8 record into the NCAA tournament as a 3rd seed in the Atlanta Bracket. Iowa visit to the tournament was cut short when 14th seed Northwestern St. beat the Hawkeyes on a last second 3 pointer to win 64-63. The Hawkeyes finished the season with a 25-9 record. This record is the best record the hawkeyes had in the Alford Era.

Iowa is going to host the Big Ten Gymnastics Championships on March 24th and 25th, 2006.

Welcome to the new and improved Fun Zone Blog

Welcome

First of all, Welcome to my new Blog Site. I’m sure this site would do for a temperary site until I can finalize the perm. site on the web. I have jumped from using Pivot to use WordPress. Pivot is very good Blogging software, if you don’t have access to a database. WordPress is the way to go if you have access to a MySql database.

Basketball Season coming to an End

The college basketball season is coming to an end this week with championship week. This is the last week of the year teams will show the selection committe that they deserved to be in the Big Dance Tournament. Duke lost twice last week and only dropped 4 places. They should of dropped out of the top ten. Most of the conferences in Divison I is starting or going to start their conference tournaments this week. Some conferencesare even finishing their tournaments.

Here is a list of teams that made the field of 65. You can find the results of the conference tourneys at Championship Week.

Some of the big time teams are being sent home early in their conference tourneys. UConn was sent home packing as well as West Virginia, George Washington, and Washington. Their are several more games today that could produce upsets. If this is what the Big Dance is going to be, then we are in for a good tournament.

My First Project Car

I’m currently in the process of purchasing a 1969 Ford Torino GT to restore. Lets here about any other project cars that people are working on. The 1969 Ford Torino GT comes with a 4 barrel 390 Cubic Inch V8 big block. IT also has a scoop on it for possible Ram Air system. Lets talk about everybody else’s project cars.

After reviewing my financial situation, I have decided to pass on this car and look for a different car after I save up some more money.
