Disc Golf Season (#9)

Update on me.

Here is the scoop. My elbow on my throwing arm is recovering just fine. It is to the point where I can start throwing discs again. I also found out what help cause me to hyperextend my elbow. I got a brand new Nintendo DS a couple months ago and the way I was holding it caused my elbow to start hurting. My elbow really started to hurt even more after throwing a few discs. So trying to loosen up my arm, I threw a disc to hard and hyperextend my elbow.
Other than my elbow getting better, I had an opportunity to teach Disc golf to a bunch of Cub Scouts at there camp. The bad news is that I had other plans that I had to do (My Mother’s Birthday). I let them borrow my portable disc basket and about 10 discs. I showed the counselor a few ways to throw the disc and some footing directions. I also shared some facts about disc golf. I recommended how to set up a single hole with the disc basket. After the camp was over I visited with the counselor when he brought my stuff back. He told me how much the kids enjoyed throwing the discs at the basket. He set up about a 225 to 275 foot hole for them to throw. He had to keep chasing kids to their next sporting event to allow others to try it. He told me next time they have something similar to this camp, he was plan on inviting me to it and borrow my stuff again.
I’m also going to be in Keokuk this weekend for the holiday. I’m going to plan on throwing at the courses down there. I’m going to take a break on Saturday to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes stomp Montana. I might see some of you on the course if you are down there. I’ll keep everyone informed on how I throw this weekend coming off my elbow injury.

Iowa Hawkeyes Football (#1)

The Hawkeyes host Montana on Saturday for their season opener at Kinnick Stadium. Iowa will have two starters sit out this game due to breaking team rules. I don’t think that will hurt Iowa chances on winning the game. Montana starting RB is a former Cyclone player. This is going to be a tune up game before Iowa starts Big Ten Conference play.
Iowa hosts #1 Ohio State in 3 weeks at Kinnick. That will be a huge win for Iowa if they can beat them.

Site changes coming up before the end of the year.

The site is getting ready for another major change in the next couple months.

The first change is that the site is going to be moved again to a better Web Hosting company called ICD Soft. This will be a all around better choice to get to. I have had several issues with my current web hosting company. Two major issues is that they don’t handle email and that not all of my Admin screens are allowed to be accessed.

Second is that the URL address is going to change to a www name. The name is already picked out. The name will be released when the site moves to its new home. This is to prevent other persons from stealing the address and trying to sale it for a higher price or just steal it from under me. I have already looked up the address at godaddy.com and it is still available.

I’m hoping that my site will be on a better web hosting provider and at a dot com address before January 1st, 2007. I’m also have a vacation planned in this time frame also.

Disc Golf Season (#8)

I didn’t throw discs this last weekend due to hurting my elbow again. I believe this injury will stop me from playing for the rest of the season, but I’m trying to see if a can savage this season by playing in some tournaments this fall.

Are you more… #91

Are you more…

01) Banjo for the fun, danceable sound or violin for the soulful, spirit-lifting sound?
Banjo for the fun because I like having fun.

02) Bus/subway for cheapness and ecological responsibility or cab for door to door convenience?
Both, it just depends on what mood I’m in and where I was at the time.

03) Paper grocery bags for the capacity and biodegradableness or plastic grocery bags for the convenience and reusability?
Paper bags somedays and plastic bags others.

04) Liking fruit that you peel (bananas, oranges, etc.) or fruit that you don’t peel (apples, pears, etc.)?
I like all kinds of fruits.

05) Expensive 3-ply kleenex or discount 2-ply kleenex?
3-ply because they are harder to rip apart.

06) Super soft toilet paper to be cushy on your widdle bum or rough, no-nonsense toilet paper to be sure to get your dirty asshole clean?
Softest is the way.

07) Watching fake wrestling (WWE, for example) for the kitchy drama or watching real fighting (boxing, UFC, etc.) for the realness?
Real fighting all the way. I’m a boxing fan.

08) Coy about telling people what you want when asked (“Oh I don’t need anything.”) or upfront about telling people what you want when asked (“I would LOVE a new watch.”)?
Upfront with people. I’m a open-minded individual and I’ll tell you what I’m thinking without any issues.

09) Believing NASA is amazing for inventing the Space Pen (works in no gravity) or believing NASA is stupid for not doing like the Russians who just use pencils?
There is better ways of spending money besides designing a pen.

10) A Spanky fan or an Alfalfa fan?
A Alfalfa fan all the way.

::Time to Fill:: – Thursday Threesome

From the dentist’s waiting room:

::Time to Fill::

Onesome:Time– wasters in your life… Just a brief jump onto your soapbox: What is the biggest bother you have in this department? I mean, something you can post without incurring familial or job related problems

Waiting on other people to make their decisions. I’m always waiting for someone on this.

Twosome: to– beat the heat! It seems like it’s all sort of hot all over the Northern Hemisphere this Summer! What are you doing to handle the heat? …and for those Down Under? Well, your turn may come in just a few months; do you have any plans for then?

Swimming, Swimming, Swimmng — This is the best way to stay cool besides eating ice cream and air conditioning

Threesome: Fill– your cup with a cold something! What are you drinking this summer to keep cool? …and if you’re a tea drinker: is it “ice tea” or “iced tea”? Just curious…

Plenty of water, Gatorade, and Ice tea. :-)

How Life isn’t Fair

The plans on moving my blog to a better server and to is own domain name has hit the wall again. I’m not able to get the funds to move my site. The Web hosting place I was looking at is ICDSoft.com. It are only charging $77 for the first year and like $56 dollars for every year after. This also includes the domain name fee. A domain name is what you type into the address bar on your favorite browser. Ex. www.yahoo.com.

I hope to move to a better server in the future.

Disc Golf Season (#7)

I just noticed that I haven’t wrote about my disc golf season for a while and I owe everyone an update. So here is the update.

I’m currently taking some time off due to the real hot heat we are having and due to the injury to my throwing arm elbow. I believe I hyper-extended my elbow while throwing discs last month. After I heal up from my injury and the weather starts to cool down I’ll be throwing again.

I’m going to try to throw a round this weekend at Rand Park in Keokuk, Iowa. I’ll play until my elbow really starts hurting or until I finished throwing 18 holes or until the heat chances me back inside. So maybe I’ll see you on the course this weekend.
