Iowa (2-3) lost a heartbreaker last Saturday to Arizona State (3-2) 64-67. Arizona State made a last second 3-pointer to beat the Hawkeyes. Iowa has a chance to rebound Wednesday night at Virginia Tech and try to pull their record to 3-3 overall. Iowa is currently in 10th place in the Big Ten with only Minnesota(2-4) with a worst record then the Hawkeyes.
Iowa (2-6 6-6) has accepted a bowl bid to the Alamo Bowl in Texas. Iowa will play a Big 12 team in this bowl game. Iowa lucked out when Indiana fell to become bowl eligible last weekend. This is Iowa’s fifth straight bowl appearance and Iowa’s worst finish since the 2000 season. Alamo Bowl game will be televised on Dec. 30th, 2006 at 4:00 PM. I’ll let everone know who Iowa play against as soon as the Big 12 championship is over.
Iowa (2 – 2) lost to Villanova (1-1) at the Paradise Jam tournament. Iowa will visit Arizona State on Saturday. Villanova was an elite eight team at last years NCAA tournament.
Iowa (2-6 6-6) lost its fifth straight conference game again Minn. (3-5 6-6) 24 – 34. Due to Indiana losing, this makes Iowa bowl eligible. The bowl game will be determined later after finding out if Michigan can stay as No. 2 in the nation in the next couple weeks.
Hawkeyes Cruise Past The Citadel 75-53 for there first win last week. Iowa Also beat Toledo and lost to #10 Alabama 60-72 at the Paradise Jam Tourney. Iowa (2 – 1) will face Villanova (1-1) at 5 PM CDT to see who will be 3rd place team. Iowa is no the road again after the tournament for a couple more games.
Iowa Hawkeyes(2-5 6-5) lost to Wisconsin(7-1 10-1) 21 – 24 today. After watching the game I decided that Drew Tate is the player that is costing Iowa victories this year. After twisting his ankle, he should of set out 1 or 2 series before coming back on the field. I was also told that Tate is acting just like the way he did in High School down in Texas. Tate is not a good quarterback for the current Wide Receivers that Iowa has. Tate also needs to throw the ball to more than just 4 players on the team.
My new prediction is as follows:
Bowl game included
Iowa (2-6 6-7) first losing season since about 2000.
Without a Bowl game
Iowa (2-6 6-6) At least it is not a losing or winning season.
My opinion if Iowa finishes 6-6 for the season, then Iowa will be passed over for any bowl games this year. Iowa is currently not pulling the fan base as it did the last few years. Iowa was sold out for today’s game, but there was a lot of empty seats. My guess is that season ticket holders are not showing up for the games.
Iowa Hawkeyes beat Buena Vista Beavers 77 to 58 in tonight’s Exb.game. Iowa starts the regular season on Monday when they take on Citadel at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City.
The Hawkeyes (2-4 6-4) lost to Northwestern (1-5 3-7) 7 -21 last Saturday. Iowa did not play like an Iowa team. This lost cause Iowa to miss out on a Jan. bowl game. Iowa play #16 Wisconsin (6-1 9-1) at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday. This is the last home game of the year.
Next
11/18/06 At Minnesota (last game of the season)
Last weekend Iowa (2-3 6-3) beat Northern Illinois (5-4) 24-14 to become bowl eligible. The Hawkeyes will try to even their conference record when they take on Northwestern (0-5 2-7) this weekend at Kinnick Stadium. Iowa started Jake Christensen at QB for the injuried Drew tate. Iowa football fans got a glimpsie of what the new 3 years are going to be like. Jake went 19 completions out of 30 attempts for 256 yards 2 TD and a interception that was not his fault. He also had a fumble in the game. Iowa’s offense will be good next year right on time to re-build the defensive line. Drew Tate is likly to start on Saturday against Northwestern Wildcats. After this game Iowa will finished the home season against Wisconsin (5-1 8-1).
