Iowa stopped UNI chances of winning by blocking the two field goal attempts from UNI in the last 10 seconds of the game in a 17-16 win. This was a game Iowa was favored to win by 26 points. This could have been a disaster to the Hawkeye’s football season.
Iowa Offensive and Defensive lines were controlled by Northern Iowa most of the game and with an unpredictable spread offensive and the stacked Defensive line with All-Americans on it.
Iowa scored 14 unanswered points after falling behind 13-3 in a game Iowa trailed since the early First Quarter. Stanzi threw for 242 yards and a TD and Robinson, the backup RB, ran for 63 yards and a TD. Tony Moeaki lead all Receivers with 10 catches for 83 yards and a TD.
Iowa’s Offense showed several holes and issues that need to be fixed. The Defense showed that they could be a better defense but is far better than the offense was. This team will have a lot of improving before going into a hostile environment in Ames next week.
