And the winner is the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay Packers drafted Bryan last night during the NFL Draft in New York City. He is also going the wear the number 75 for the Packers and help protect Aaron Rodgers. With his speed and size, he will be a great fit with Green bay. Good Luck Bryan.
I was forced to take a little time off from blogging to fix my computers. Both my laptop and desktop where infected with viruses from my wife’s camera and from facebook.
I will take some time this weekend and get my blog updated.
I have uploaded a new image on my banner. This is the first of a couple upgrades that will happen to my theme. Thanks to my themes creator BillH at benched42.net.
My family when out to eat at a Country Kitchen restaurant in our town last week. We ordered a cup of soup with our meal. The soup cup is the same size of a coffee cup. The price was $3.29 for the cup. My wife and I thought we were charged for a bowl and not a cup so I asked about it. The bowl costs $4.29 and it is the size of a small plate and about 4 to 5 times more soup and for a dollar more. The next time we will order the bowl and take home the extra soup for another meal. Prices are getting out of control with us being in a recession.
This is the 1st Anniversary of the Tigerhawkblog.com web site. I hope for many more to come.
I know I haven’t been updating my site as much as I should, but I have been very busy. My wife is expecting again with teins in September and I have been busy with work and with my 2 sons.
Starting tonight I will try to update my blog at least twice a week with some type of message or news about the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The Iowa Hawkeyes (9-4) beat the South Carolina Gamecocks (7-6) in the 2009 Outback Bowl today. Greene rushed for 121 yards and three touchdowns and Iowa’s defense forced 5 turnovers to help the Hawkeyes in their 31-10 win.
Stanzi went 13-19 for 148 yards with a touchdown. Stanzi also threw two picks during the game. South Carolina also had 100 yards of penalities to help Iowa’s field position during the game.
Tyler Sash had two interceptions for about 74 yards and Bradley Fletcher had an interception in the end zone to help Iowa’s defense keep South Carolina from scoring until the fourth period. Iowa’s defense only allowed 42 yard rushing while giving up 265 yards passing with most of the passing yards coming in the Third and Fourth periods of the game.
Brandon Myers, Tony Moeaki, Andy Brodell, and Derrell Johnson-Koulianos helped out with big yardage plays with the only touchdown pass going to Trey Stross on Iowa’s first possession of the game. Jewel Hamption also helped out with 55 rushing yards.
But the biggest offense star was Shonn Greene. Greene, the Outback Bowl Most Valuable Player, set the new Iowa single season record for the most rushing touchdowns in a single record with 20 and finished the season with 1,850 yards rushing. He also rushed in all 13 games he played in this season.
Greene announced right after the game that he is thinking on skipping his final season at Iowa to go to the NFL Draft this year. He wants to talk to his family about his before making his final decision turning pro.
If you haven’t heard about it, this has been a very rough year in the Midwest. We had not one but two floods this year and last Monday we had a wind storm go through here. The storm last about 30 minutes and the wind speed was clocked at our local airport at 80 to 98 MPH. There are several trees down and a lot of people still without power tonight. You can see the damage at BillH’s website “View from the Bench”.
