I threw my career best at Rand Park this last weekend. I threw at 30 on the First 9 tieing my career best, threw a 31 on the Back 9 which sets a new career best. Total I threw a 61 for the whole course which is also my career best at Rand Park. I also got my first deuce of my career on hole #18. My first shot was just 5 feet short from being an ace. I now know that I’m ready to play in the tournament this weekend at Sunset Park in Washington.

Hey everybody,

I’m getting ready for my last practice weekend before I start throwing my first tournament of the season. I’m goig to be practicing at Rand Park in Keokuk and at Hamilton’s 9 hole course this weekend. My first torunamnet will be at the Sunset Showdown at Washington on the 11th of June. After that is the Iowa State Championships in Ottumwa and possiblility of the Osky Challenge at Oskaloosa. I’m also going to throw at the Iowa Games at Ames this year. Depends on how I do at the above tournaments how the rest of my year will plan out. I have a few tournaments in the fall that I’m interested in throwing at. I hope everyone has a good weekend and maybe I’ll see some of you this weekend or at a tournament.

My city has just approved creating a disc golf course in Fuller Park. I will be playing at this course when it is open to play. The course is open to the public and will be owned by the city. The city will be promoting the course with tournaments, adult leagues, and having Pro Disc Golf Players host clinics at the course.

The City is going to promote it as a Technical Championship Style Course. The work will be done by volunteers that will help build the course.

I tied my career best at Rand Park.

In the first game, I shot a 30 on the front 9 of Rand Park. This ties my career best record since May, 2001. I had a couple bad throws that I had trouble with. This is one of the best 9 holes I have played this year. This also includes rattling the chains on hole # 4 at at lest 100 to 150 ft away from the basket. I almost got my first deuce of the season and since 2001.

In the second game, I started to show signs of being tried. My score was a 33 with is the same as the first time I threw at Rand Park. There was several mistakes made during the game and I lost my focus a few times. I’m still learning to control my disc throws and staying focused. I believe having more people out on the course the second game caused me to lost focus. This is somthing that I have to work on before playing in any tournaments.

I’m going to practice throwing on my basket in the back yard as I decide where I’m going to throw next.

I didn’t get a chance to throw last weekend due to time constraint and that I forgot to pack my discs before I left to go to Ottumwa. I have been finding out that I’m having time constraints practicing last week too. I hope I can get a couple rounds of golf in this weekend and I hope to have some practice during the week. I’m going back to Rand Park , Keokuk, Ia this weekend. This weekend is looking good for Friday and Saturday, but calling for rain for Sunday.

I will be outside this week practicing my approach and putting with my basket. I’ll going to try to practice on my release if I can. My next course is going to be Rand Park in Keokuk, Ia this coming weekend. The Pro par for the course is 54 (27 and 27). The regular par for the first 9 holes is 32.

Hello everyone.

I’m currently writing some software that will help me track how I throw at each course I’ve been to. I can use this information to see what holes are giving me troubles and how I can address the problems. With this software, you will also be able to run a tournament or even a series of tournaments at your local disc golf course.
This will take me some time, but I hope to have a working copy of it by the end of the summer or even by next spring. I do have a life besides writing software. The software will be written in PHP with MySql as the backend database.

I threw my first course in 2006

I threw my first course for the 2006 season last weekend at Rand Park, Keokuk, Ia. I only threw 9 holes due to time issues. I threw a 33 for the course. The course par is 32 and Prod par is 27 for the first 9 holes.

This is pretty good considering that I haven’t thrown a disc in over 3 years. I found out that I need to re-learn which discs I need to use at which time on the course. I threw my disc into the street twice. I also need to re-learn disc control due to hitting 2 trees on the course. Both of these issues can be corrected by practicing on a daily basis. I’m still looking for my first tournament for this year. I’m looking at a tournament in May and tournaments in mid-summer to fall.

Coming Next:
I will be outside this week practicng my approachand putting with my basket. I’ll going to try to practice on my release if I can. My next course is going to be Wildwood Park in Ottumwa, Ia this coming weekend. The Pro par for the course is 54 (27 and 27). Pro par for a course is most likly 3 shots per hole unless there is a hole longer than 375 feet.

Disc Golf is here again

The weather is starting to get nice and I hear the discs through the air. Its Disc Golf season again. I’m starting to get fit again so I can start competing at tournaments again. I took a couple years off for family reasons and now I found myself able to compete again. I’ll keep everybody up to date with my training and any tournaments that I played in. My home courses are Rand Park in Keokuk, Iowa or Wildwood Park in Ottumwa, Iowa. Maybe I’ll see some of you out on the courses.
